From the Advaitic perspective, the ‘I’-centric’ gurus and their teachings are mental garbage.*****

From the Advaitic perspective, the ‘I’-centric’ gurus and their teachings are mental garbage.
Remember: ~
If ‘I’ is present then only there is ignorance.
If ignorance is there then only there is duality.
If there is duality then only the mind is present.
If there mind present then only the form, time and space are present.
If the form, time and space present then only the universe is present.
If universe present then only the waking is present.
If the waking is present then only the individual experience of the birth, life, death and the world is experienced as a reality.
If the ‘I’ is absent then: ~
If ‘I’ is absent then only there is no ignorance.
If ignorance is absent then there is no duality.
If there is no duality then the mind is absent.
If there mind absent then the form, time and space are absent.
If the form, time and space present then only the universe is present.
If universe absent then the waking experience is absent.
If the waking is absent then only the individual experience of the birth, life, death and the world is an illusion.
Without the illusion, the Soul, the Self alone prevails as the ultimate reality or Brahman or God.
Through Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana the seeker will be able to mentally observe the Soul, the Self as it is in the midst of the dualistic illusion by realizing the form, time and space are one in essence.
Sages of truth restrained themselves parting the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana to the mass and only a selected few.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was hidden from the people who were not qualified and receptive to it. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was not written down but was imparted orally to the chosen few. Thus, religion was given to the ignorant populace and the knowledge of the Spirit, the God is given only selected few.

Thus, we find traces of the knowledge of the spirit in the religious books in the form of parables.

The Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection; and of those who strive and succeed, scarcely one knows the ‘Self’  in truth.

The path of wisdom attracts only those who are in search of truth and they appreciate it greatly.   The ignorant are not spiritually matured the receive Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  The ignorant indulge in argument and provocation and personal attack, which hinder their own realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman.

That is why Jesus said: - Do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. (Matthew -7:6)

~ He meant knowledge of Spirit or Knowledge of God or  Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ “Don't unsettle the minds of ignorant by revealing the esoteric truth."

***
Katha Upanishad says: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. (II -23-P-20)

Thus, those who have taken the path of wisdom are chosen ones.  The chosen one will get the grace of the Soul the inner Guru. The path of wisdom is the Soulcentric path, whereas all other paths are egocentric.  All egocentric paths are leads to hallucination.

The Soul, the 'Self' reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.

This is your bondage that you are stuck up to the ‘I’ centric teaching.  ‘I’ centric teachings are lower knowledge meant for lower stages.

The seeker has to ignore these ‘I’ based teaching and search of higher knowledge. ... Such teachings are unsafe rafts for crossing the ocean of the ignorance.  Doomed to shipwreck are those who try to cross the ocean of the ignorance on these poor rafts. Ignorant of their own ignorance, yet wise in their own esteem, these deluded people proud of their vain learning go round and round like the blind led by the blind.

The Soul, the innermost Self is verily Brahman (God), being equanimous, quiescent, and by nature absolute Existence, Knowledge, and Awareness.  The Soul is not the ‘I’ which is non-existence itself.  Realization of this truth is called Self- Knowledge by the Sages of truth.

There is nothing exist prior to consciousness. The ‘I’ cease to exist without the consciousness. The Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
