Sage Sri, Sankara ignorance will not vanish by mere book-knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the dualistic illusion (I).*****

Sage Sri, Sankara ignorance will not vanish by mere book-knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the dualistic illusion (I).

Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of bookish knowledge, but he tries to get a direct realization of truth hidden by the ignorance.

Sage Sri, Sankara does not believe in the book. Sage Sri, Sankara denies the authority of any book over any other book. Sage Sri, Sankara denies emphatically any one book contain all the truths about Brahman or God, Soul, the ultimate reality.

It is impossible to realize the Self through bookish knowledge. A feeling of profound respect for physical Guru is still more difficult to uphold. If you are seeking truth know must not cling to any physical Guru or his teaching.

Advaita is not any type of teaching or philosophy. Advaita is the knowledge of your true existence. Advaita is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness.  Advaita is the ultimate reality, Brahman, or GOD.

That why Sage Sri, Sankara said:~”Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Sage Sri, Sankara says:~ “VC-162 ~  There is no liberation for a person of mere book-knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the body, sense organs, etc., which are unreal.

Sage Sri, Sankara himself had often said that his philosophy was based on Sruti, or revealed scripture. This may be because, Sage Sri, Sankara addressed the ordinary man, who finds security in the idea of causality and thus, in the idea of God—and Revelation is indispensable to prove the latter. He believed that those of superior intelligence, have no need of this idea of divine causality, and can, therefore, dispense with Sruti and arrive at the truth of Advaita by pure reason.
Sage Sri, Sankara strongly advocated the study of Upanishads and at the same time cautioned that study of Upanishad alone would not lead to moksha. In matters of such as spiritual attainment, one’s own realization was the sole authority and it cannot be disputed
Sage Sri, Sankara also said the study of Upanishad was neither indispensable nor a necessary prerequisite for attaining the human goal, the moksha.
Sage Sri, Sankara pointed out; even those who were outside the Upanishad fold were as eligible to moksha as those within the fold were. He declared that all beings are Brahman, and therefore the question of discrimination did not arise. All that one was required to do was to get rid of ignorance (Avidya or duality).
That is why Sage Sri, Sankara declare: ~ VC 56. Neither by Yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by good work, nor by learning, but by the realization of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.
58. Loud speech consisting of a shower of words, the skill in expounding the Scriptures, and likewise erudition - these merely bring on a little personal enjoyment to the scholar but are no good for Liberation.
59. The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.
60. The Scriptures consisting of many words are a dense forest which merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence, men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.
61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae) and medicines to such a one?
62. A disease does not leave off if one simply utters the name of the medicine, without taking it; (similarly) without direct realization one cannot be liberated by the mere utterance of the word Brahman.
63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’ how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.
64. Without killing one’s enemies, and possessing oneself of the splendor of the entire surrounding region, one cannot claim to be an emperor by merely saying, ‘I am an emperor’.
65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.
66. Therefore, the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths.
Then there is no need for the scriptures, religion, and idea of God. One has to be more rational to realize the Advaitic truth, which is ultimate truth or scientific truth.
The intricate maze of the philosophy of different schools claims to clarify matters and reveal the Truth, but in fact, they create more confusion where no confusion need exist. To understand anything there is a need for perfect understanding and assimilation of ultimate truth or Brahman. Why worry about the physical body, ego, logic creation, creator, saints and sages, and the world, which are part and parcel of the illusion.
All conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. Where do all these concepts end? Why should confusion be created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophy but goes straight to the Source from which they all rise.

Assuming or speculating and coming to the logical conclusion on the base of physical self/ego is intellectuality. Therefore, intellectuality is egocentric. Egocentricity is the greatest obstacle in grasping the nondual truth.

There is no need to study philosophies of western and eastern philosophers; they are not the means to acquire Self-Knowledge or nondual wisdom.  They are in fact an obstacle in the pursuit of truth because they are based on the physical self/ego. There is no necessary to study philosophy of any great thinkers to ensure firm realization.

There is no need for any philosophy to verify the truth of the self.  All that is intellectual wealth, useful in explaining doubts and difficulties if others raise them if he himself encounter them in course of thinking. But to attain realization, all that is not necessary. One wants fresh water to drink, but he does not require all the water of the whole lake to quench his quest.

Philosophical Authoritarianism merely assumes as true what another says, but what has yet to be proved.  Lots of pundits will teach “Who am ‘I’”? - but none have deeply analysed it scientifically, none can prove it. Rational proof is needed in pursuit of truth, so that one can arrive at knowing truth i.e. Wisdom; theirs is mere dogma, parrotism, repetition of what they read in scripture.

Philosophical argument leads nowhere. If philosopher says “Self” is formless “another will reply, "No, 'self'has a form! If one says "his adopted philosophy   has higher value then all other philosophy” another will say, "No, that is lower and there are many philosophies higher than that." It is impossible to get anywhere with such talk because both sides are merely assuming and imagining.

The Reality has no method. Illusion has many methods, many problems, and many concepts.
Awakening is nothing but a complete, perfect understanding. A clear cut understanding of ‘what is what’ is awakening. The reality is not to be achieved, it is there. After this thorough understanding, nothing is required. : ~Santthosh Kumaar
